About WorkloadWalrus

Reviewing is unglamorous, unmeasured, and easy to skip. Writing code is visible; review work mostly is not. So review debt accumulates quietly, and the people who do the reviewing stay invisible.

WorkloadWalrus counts two numbers per person, per organisation: pull requests they reviewed, and pull requests they opened. Reviewed is the headline. The person WorkloadWalrus most wants to celebrate is the one who reviews other people's work and opens little or nothing themselves.

The other half of the message: somebody opening more pull requests than they review is putting load onto other people's queues, which generative tools have made cheap to do at volume. WorkloadWalrus names that pattern too, plainly, so it can be noticed and shared out rather than left to whoever reviews fastest.

This is not a performance management tool.

WorkloadWalrus will not produce a per-person export for a manager, and does not rank people against each other by anything other than review activity in a way meant to celebrate rather than discipline. It exists to make review load visible to the team that carries it, not to feed a review of any one person.
